ASEP FAQs

Do I need to let the school know my child is participating in ASEP classes and has a dismissal change?

No, the school has a list of enrolled ASEP students and details of how it’s handled is below

How will my child get to their ASEP classroom?

Homeroom teachers receive a list of students attending ASEP classes, and those students are dismissed to the gym to meet their ASEP teachers. ASEP coordinators check them in and then students walk to their ASEP classroom with their teacher.

What does my child need to bring for ASEP?

Water bottle, small snack, and appropriate clothes for class (sneakers for sports class, etc.). The ASEP teacher will notify you if any other supplies are necessary.

Where will I pick up my child?

Students should be picked up at the school’s main entrance unless otherwise noted by the ASEP teacher. Parents/authorized adutls cannot enter the school to pick their students up.  Pick up is at 4PM.

My student is a bus rider. Will there be transportation from the school after the ASEP class?

No. A parent or authorized adult is required to pick up the student when ASEP ends at 4:00 PM. Failure to pick up on time will result in a $10 late fee. The late fee must be paid in full prior to the student’s next class. Payments may be paid through Memberhub.

If my child participates is CASA, where do I pick them up?

If your child participates in CASA, their ASEP teacher will take them to CASA and they should be picked up there.

When will I hear from my child’s ASEP instructor?

Most teachers contact parents by the end of the first week of ASEP. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact the PTA.

Why are some ASEP classes more expensive than others?

Some classes have supplies that need to be purchased for the class which increases the cost of the class.

Can I sign up my student up for more than one class?

Yes!

Can I sign up any time during the registration period?

Yes, but you will not be able to sign up for a class when the maximum number of students is reached. The longer you wait the less likely your selection will be available.

What if the class I want to register for isn’t available?

As soon as a class is full the waitlist box will appear. Click on the “Join Waitlist” box and you’ll be notified via email if a spot becomes available. You will have 24 hours to respond to the email. If you do not respond to the email, the spot will be offered to the next student on the waitlist.

Do I get a partial refund if my student is not at school the day the class meets (i.e., student is sick, on vacation, or is unable to attend for any reason)?

No, unfortunately partial refunds will not be given if a child misses a class.

What if I need to cancel the class?

Please choose your classes carefully. There are no refunds for withdrawals and credits will not be issued.  There will be no refund if a student is disenrolled at any point once the class begins.

Who do I contact if I’m having an issue with registering or if I have additional questions?

Please contact the PTA.
